\nWalk on, savour the resonance, enclosed by measure.
\nHarked to, immersed in our present, we stumble.
\nBlessed by good weather, cleansed by chill wind,
\nwrapped and swaddling.
\nSomehow to be back, at the sad end of the year,
\nat last, we\u00a0abide.
\nCome closer in, for warmth and comfort,
\nbehind the rock.
\nOut of the wind, huddle closer as the time passes.
\nAlone here, the sky to read, the wind to watch,
\nthe sea shake, reave and wave.
\nDown on the sand below, birds hunt,
\nharsh challenge in the thrift.
\nAgain\u00a0from the north, it shaves\u00a0in, colder.
\nShrug on the load, and make no haste.
\nTake the stile, our stone paved paths, change.
\nAt the last grasp of the headland, await,
\nthe time of the island’s passing,
\nat the knighted rock hollow.
\nDeep in the zawn, horseback,
\nhigh grasses and fern.
\nWipe wind tears from your eyes,
\nand press inwards.
\nTo prevail, in this cut in the hillside,
\neroded\u00a0by the sea, and ancient stannary.
\nIt now marks a state, and us changed.
\nOnce more into the wind, sky-blown tears us.
\nAcross the promised fields,
\nwhere rough cattle shake the menhir,
\ndown to the fallow farm.
\nKeep to us our rightful way,
\nholding still the lanes.
\nThe rough built Cornish walls,
