\nWaited, atoning, at the top of a cliff,
\nin unbidden meditation
\nWatched another sun sink, although the stars
\nconfused him, his compass spun.
\nThe weather shrunk him,
\nskin and bone hardened like old wood.
\nHe took back to the old beliefs,
\nand the certainly of uncertainty.
\nHe travelled the far abroad, only within the land.
\nSeeking out the good old, the new ancient.
\nBrought it back, captured in images.
\nAlmost part of the landscape,
\nhe became known, liked and fortunate.
\nLong walks on endless tracks.
\nGreen right, blue left, blue left, grey right.
\nSome worried.
\nBut he was only making up lost time,
