A Cornish Day

“WTF are you up to now”? You may ask.

A collection of tunes I’ve been working on recently,  roughly themed around a day in  Cornwall.

It’s a concept album. Yes a fucking concept album, just like prog rockers used to do in the 70’s, so sue me. As it’s a concept album, I’ve done a complete version, and  sequenced it in order with track markers, so that it can be heard properly. (Stop laughing at the back.)

Before you start yapping on, these aren’t “songs” or “tunes” they are more like impressionistic soundscapes. For want of a better description, they are like the incidental music on TV shows or movies. They are mainly “ambient”.

These are just the preliminary tracks, I’ll be doing the proper CD , which will be “orchestrated”, in the coming months. This will be VERY GOOD, mind-blowing in fact. So why have I posted this version, if there’s a better one coming? If I hadn’t I’d not stop working on them, and would still be fucking around with these tracks trying to make sense of them, at Xmas 2020.

I promised myself I’d do all the tracks on synths before I did the full version. Remarkably I stuck with that.

FAQ.

Is it any good? Nope.

Will I like it? Nope.

Why should I listen to it then? You shouldn’t.

Why did you do it then? It amuses me.

You didn’t really do all this did you? No I have a bit of software on my computer which does it for me.  I just press a button and type in what sort of bloody awful music I want and it reels it out by the yard.

Really? Nope.

What sort of music is it? Ambient and bloody awful.

Why is there two track number 6, and no track 14? I fucked up the numbering.

When you say you will be doing an “orchestrated” version? All these tracks are done on synths, I will be doing them again using “real” (sampler) instruments soon.

Samplers aren’t real instruments? Is a mellotron a “real” instrument?

Anyway, piss off.
